When moving to Arnold in 1951 she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Annapolis and there served on many committees, church choir, taught Sunday School classes, and several church officer positions. After retiring from the Anne Arundel County School System, she was the Church librarian, and organized a library in the Chaplains office at Ginger Cove where she resided for several years before moving to Nevada. In 2016, with failing eyesight and hearing, she moved from Ginger Cove in Annapolis to Las Vegas to live with her only daughter, Kelby and her husband Michael Brandow.
