Nancy was born in Lewis County, West Virginia on April 23, 1943, to James and Beulah Peterson.
Nancy moved to Washington D.C. after graduating from high school and began working for the U.S. government in the Department of Health and Human Services. She took pride in her career had the chance to meet many celebrities during her 50 years on the job.
Nancy loved the Chesapeake Bay, the beaches of North Carolina, and spending time on the Eastern Shore. She was happiest spending time outdoors and grew beautiful plants and flowers. She also filled her yard with bird feeders and houses because she enjoyed bird watching. She was a wonderful hostess who made holidays extra special with her gourmet cooking. She enjoyed good wine, and delicately paired cheeses and appetizers.
Nancy will be forever missed by her family and friends. Her family asks that you honor her memory by making a donation to Save The Bay Foundation in lieu of sending flowers. This will help keep her memory forever with us through the preservation of the beautiful bay that she loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 12:00-3:00. This will be held at her home located at 9108 Trumps Hill Rd., Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
