
Rhea Lewis, a longtime resident of Annapolis, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on November 23, 2014 at the age of 88. Rhea is survived by her three daughters; Wilda Apostol, Rhea Hunt, and Sandra Parr; a brother, Walter Berry; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James William Lewis Sr.; her son, James William Lewis Jr., her grandson; Logan Christopher Parr, and five of her siblings. Rhea, a native of Brockton Massachusetts, moved to Annapolis in 1945 at the age of nineteen. While her husband, William “Reds” worked as an electrician and barber, Rhea stayed home to raise her four children. She was often found crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking, or baking delicious fudge for neighborhood children to enjoy. Rhea will be remembered for her gift of giving. Over her lifetime, she spent thousands of hours knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans, doilies, mittens, socks and more to give to friends, families, and even strangers. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, November 28th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Taylor Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 29th at 12 PM burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rhea’s life.
