Mr. Peret was my guidance counselor at Vo tech. There he helped me and other students who were not on a college track stay in school and learn a trade. He was always there if you needed him. Mr. Peret was my co-worker at my Grandfather’s crab house. I’m not even sure he was paid but he loved my Grandfather and was there to help him. Much to my surprise and enjoyment, once I was an adult, Mr. Peret and Bessie visited the same establishments as my wife and I, the Annapolis Fleet Reserve and the Annapolis Elks. What a great dancer he was!

Mr. Peret, you taught me to work hard and enjoy life to the fullest. Your guidance and friendship help make me into the person I am today.

Sad to see "Mr. Peret" has passed. A thousand memories growing up in Eastport and seeing him and "Ms. Peret" driving by or out in front of the house. Eastport will miss him.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He and my late father, Louis Lewnes, were good friends. I offer my profound condolences to Bessie and family. Having grown up on Fourth Street, I will always remember Dick Peret as one of those "Old Eastporters" from my childhood.
