Dear Gail and family,

It’s hard to believe that 5 years have passed since Bob died. We still miss his humor and easy- going attitude.  We are grateful that our friendship will continue for many years to come.

Dear Gail,

It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by since Bob passed away.  Malinda Ann and I sure miss him, but we are so glad that we have continued to be good friends with you.

Remember your first airline trip with us in December 2023 to Savannah? You probably thought you were on your way to meet Bob but it was his wings and DON’S wings that were holding us up. May our friendship continue for many more years.

Dear Gail and family,

Another year has gone by and it’s now three years since Bob passed away.  Life has changed for both of us since our husbands have both passed. They will never fade away 

I’m so glad that we continue our friendship and soon it will be time to venture forth on your first plane trip with me and Malinda Ann. We know what Bob would say - “what took you so long?” 

We grieve that Bob and Don are not with us physically but we smile because they will always be a part of our lives.

Bob still lives in our hearts and memories on this second anniversary of his passing. 

We fondly remember his wonderful sense of humor and all the fun times we had together at church,  church-related events, ball games and eating out at our favorite restaurants.

 A letter to my husband Bob

Dear Bob,

     I really miss you.  I miss your smile, your “I Love You's”, and your hugs.  We had a happy life and not so happy at times, together for 59 years.  You were a wonderful husband, great father to our children Kimberly (your Sugar) and Chris (your hunting and fishing partner), and a fabulous grandpap to our three beautiful granddaughters – Megan, Danielle and Brooke.  You worked very hard and provided a nice life for your family.  

     You and I always went somewhere for our anniversary on September 18th.  We had a 25th wedding anniversary party given by our children and a 50th wedding anniversary party given by our children and their spouses Colin and Linette.  Both parties were celebrated with our families and many friends.   We did make it to our 55th wedding anniversary.  I will treasure the memories we made together.

     I know the last few years of your life were a challenge for you and me with your many illnesses.  You had many obstacles to overcome which you did with grace and did your best to adapt.

     Not a day goes by that I don't think of you, but I know you are suffering no more in heaven and you are with our Lord.  I am now making new memories with our children and granddaughters.  One day I know I will be with you again in heaven and we will be together in eternity.

Remembering Dad…..

I remember snuggling up on your lap to just hang out and talk (even in high school).  You collected sea shells for me and taught me how to body surf; I treasured our family beach vacations.  You taught me the important things in life, like perseverance and loving family (and how to roller skate).  We laughed, had a food fight and threw wrapping paper at each other at Christmas time.  I still laugh thinking about the time you dropped the brand-new plastic mustard jar (they used to be glass) to show me how it wouldn’t break…and it broke.  But most of all I remember you always telling me how proud you were of me and how much you loved me.

Dad, I miss you and am grateful for your love and confidence.  You were a wonderful Dad and Grandpap to my girls.  I thank God for the time we had together and the time that is to come.….

It's a year to the date that Bob passed away.   He is not forgotten and will remain in our hearts and memories for many years to come.

First and foremost, I am very sorry for your loss.  I didn't know the Kolos family all that well.  They were my back-yard neighbors back in the 50's and early 60's when we lived in Riverdale.  I remember my older sister had a terrible crush on 'Bobby', but of course he wouldn't give her the time of day!  They were about 12 or so back then.  
     A lot has changed in all of our lives, and I am pleased to see Bobby led a full filled life with what sounds like a lovely, happy family.

Dear Gail and family:

This is a difficult time for all of you but take comfort in knowing that Bob is no longer fighting the long uphill battle with illness and is resting peacefully and lovingly in the arms of our Heavenly Father.   

We all knew that Bob had already used up at least two cats worth of “lives” but it is us who grieve for him that need God’s reassurance that we’ll all be together again laughing and remembering our restaurant lunch and dinners together with you and Bob and Don and me and all the other fun and crazy times of Happy Hours at Carrols Creek, Orioles and Bowie Baysox games and church events that ranged from parking cars to pie auctions and potlucks and the courageous Live Nativities at St Paul Annapolis.  

Malinda Ann and I will miss Bob’s uncanny sense of humor and dry wit and that eye-rolling smirk he’d give when you weren’t looking!  He was a sweet, gentle and warm gentleman and a Christian above all else.  We know that he’s being welcomed into eternal rest by Don where their camaraderie and friendship will know no earthly boundaries.  And there will be plenty of cream of crab soup, shrimp cocktails, crabs and key lime pie for all of us to share for eternity!

Always enjoyed Bob's and Gail's visits. He was always upbeat and always had a kind word. Thoughts are with Gail and family.

Bob was a sweet guy, prayers to you Gail and family,  he put up a great fight. He is in a better place
