Born and raised in Annapolis, Ron was the beloved son of the late Paul Catterton Leitch and Mildred Reba Howard Leitch. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ann Leitch. He is survived by his devoted wife, Maura McMullen Leitch, with whom he shared many cherished years.
Ron graduated from Annapolis High School and went on to attend the University of Maryland for two years. He was a dedicated employee of Steven's Hardware Downtown, where he worked as a sales associate and assistant manager for 41 years. Known for his warm smile, deep product knowledge, and unwavering commitment to customer service, Ron was a trusted and familiar face to generations of Annapolitans.
A true sports enthusiast, Ron was an avid supporter of his local teams—the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, the Maryland Terrapins, and the Navy Midshipmen. His love of sports was matched only by his loyalty to the community and city he called home for his entire life.
Ron will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the pride he took in a life well lived. He leaves behind countless friends, coworkers, and customers whose lives he touched over the years.
The family will be welcoming visitors Thursday, August 7th from 1:30-2:30pm at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home at 147 Duke of Gloucester St in Annapolis. A service will follow at 2:30pm in the Chapel at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County at: aascpca.org.
