

Shane Nguyen, a devoted and beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 53 after a long illness. Shane was born on September 19, 1972, in Vietnam and was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a resident of Annapolis, Maryland.
After completing high school, Shane enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1991, where he served with dedication both on active duty and in the reserves. After several combat deployments, he retired in 2020, having earned the rank of Master Sergeant. Shane was a true Marine and deeply respected.
Following his military service, he worked as an instructor for the US Secret Service, sharing his knowledge and experience with others, continuing to serve his country.
Shane is survived by his wife, Anneli, and their children, Alexandra and Logan. He is also remembered by his mother, Sen Sidener and his sister Chi Sidener-Funk, as well as a large extended family. Shane's family was the center of his world, and he was immensely proud of his children. They were the light of his life. He spent many hours at the ice rink enjoying Alexandra and Logan’s sports activities. In his free time, Shane was an enthusiast of fly fishing and camping, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with his two beloved children and the family dogs. He had a passion for karaoke and loved a good party, often enjoying the company of friends. He also had a talent and appreciation for cooking as well as working with his hands.
Shane will forever be remembered for his dedication to his family, his lighthearted approach to life, and his passion for living life to the fullest. He will be forever in our hearts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday November 6, 2025 from 1-3 pm at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday November 6, 2025 from 4-7 pm at The Atreeum at Soaring Timbers, 610 North Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. Inurnment will take place on Friday November 7, 2025 at National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico at 12:30 pm.
