

Danny was born on October 18, 1932, in Annapolis MD. to Thomas Daniel Palmer and Clarice Palmer. He was proceeded in death by his parents; his brother; Verdine Palmer and sister-in-law Joan Palmer.
He is survived by his loving Wife, of over 69 years, Wanda R Palmer, whom he adored; Brother Douglas Palmer; Son, Timothy and his wife Chris; Daughter, Terry Palmer; Son, Thomas Palmer and his wife Cheryl; 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Danny Grew up in the city he loved and spent almost his entire life in Annapolis. He graduated from Annapolis High school in 1950, in his youth, he enjoyed playing Baseball and Football and eventually was a NASCAR driver in the local tracks around his hometown. He also worked at Palmer Garage, his father business, to help his Family.
Throughout his career, Danny worked as a welder at Honeywell in Annapolis, Served as an officer with the Anne Arundel County police department and a volunteer fire fighter. He later returned to work at Palmer Garage where he eventually took over his Fathers business and became owner with his wife Wanda.
Danny’s enjoyed Hunting and was passionate about horses, for over a decade the family owned and showed Horses. However his greatest passion was wood working, which eventually led him to become a competitive Decoy Carver and Painter. He carved, repaired and painted hundreds of decoys in his lifetime, He became especially known for creating a large life size Swan, named the whistling Swan, which was Decoy of the year for the local Ducks Unlimited chapter. although he sold several of his Swan’s, He made sure that each of his family members received one as well.
Danny retired at the age of 55 and was Blessed with the ability to travel throughout the United States, Canada and Alaska with his beloved wife and many dear Friends. Together they explored the country in a variety of different motor homes they owned over the years. Danny and Wanda also travel internationally with friends. For the last 30+ years, they spent their winters in Florida, a place they came to cherish.
Danny lived a full and meaningful life, devoted to his family and friends, and the pursuits he loved. He will be remembered for his work ethic, craftsmanship, and unwavering love of those around him.
He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and Family that will miss him deeply. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace. Pops, we love you and will miss you until we meet again.
Visitation will be held at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 DUKE OF GLOUCESTER ST, ANNAPOLIS, MD 21401, US, on June 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
