Walter Jerome Meinhold, known as “Moose” to most who knew him, passed away in Edgewater, Maryland on August 9th, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Moose was born in Annapolis, Maryland July 20, 1936 to Robert M. Meinhold and Ethel C. Purdy Meinhold. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, as well as being a member of the church. He is preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert Meinhold and his sister’s Catherine and Frances Rafter.
Moose is survived by his wife P. Rosanne Meinhold of 37 years. They resided in Edgewater, Maryland at the time of his death. He is also survived by 1 daughter, Susan (Frostee) Dove and her husband Ray (Woody) Dove, of Edgewater. He leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Chelsea Dove of Annapolis, Brady (Emily) Dove of Monterey, Ca. and Hailey (Tyler) Force of Annapolis. He also leaves behind 2 great grandchildren.
Moose was a lifetime member of the Broadneck Elks Lodge #2608, the American Legion Post 7 and the Annapolis Moose Lodge where he participated in horseshoes and billiards. He was a loyal fan of the Baltimore Ravens and enjoyed his Sunday’s watching football with his family and friends.
