

Wanda Eileen was born on November 3, 1924 to Charles Blackwell McKeag and Sally Manning McKeag in Pahuska, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of three children. Her brother, Jack McKeag, and sister, Jeanne Steele, predeceased her. Wanda passed peacefully on February 9, 2015.
Wanda attended Oklahoma University where she met her husband, Claude F. (Smokey) Martin, Jr. They were married on December 15, 1945. She spent 25 years as a Naval Officer’s wife. Their final posting was in 1964 at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
In 1969, Wanda earned a Masters Degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. She spent the next 20 years as a social worker and supervisor of foster homes. She retired in 1990. She bought her home at 6 Martin Street in downtown Annapolis in 1968 and lived there for forty years until she moved to The Hermitage at St. John’s Creek in Solomons, Maryland.
Wanda is survived by her children, Claude F. Martin III and his wife Stephanie Stevens of California, MD, Nancy Starr Martin Head and her husband David Head of Oviedo, FL, and Sara Martin-Michels and her husband Frank Michels of Nashville, TN; and by 6 nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Middleham Chapel in Lusby, MD at 1:00 pm on Saturday February 21, 2015.
