

He was born May 14, 1940, in Henry, Illinois to the late Clara Haun Crabbs and Clarence Crabbs. He grew up on the Crabbs’ farm in Princeton, Illinois.
Bill graduated from Princeton (Il) High School and the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He worked as a Consumer Safety Officer for the Food and Drug Administration and retired from there after 30 years of service. He earned several awards while working there. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War years as a medic.
He was a volunteer for Volunteers of America and SCORE and worked as their computer specialist and served in many capacities. He won many awards for his service with SCORE.
His hobbies included riding his bicycle at least 10 miles a day, riding his motorcycle, reading, working on cars and working with computers.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann Torovsky Crabbs; his daughter Susanne (Chris) Smith and two grandsons, Jackson Smith and Henry Smith. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Crabbs (Lowell) Edminster, two nephews Brian (Brenda) Edminster , Gary (Charlene) Edmister and niece Tamera Lynn Edmister. He is also survived by his two kitties, Linus and Wrigley.
There will be no viewing but burial will take place on Thursday March 16, 2023 at 1 PM at Cedar Bluff Cemetery in Annapolis. Friends and family are invited to attend his burial by meeting at 12:30 PM at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis, MD, where the procession to the cemetery will start.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of the Chesapeake or the Annapolis SPCA.
