Funeral service for Alice Ruth Weathington, 92, of Ohatchee, will be 2 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Ragan Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Ragan Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 – 2 pm at the church. Mrs. Weathington passed away on Sunday at her residence.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Box, Kathy Poss (Danny), Connie Kay (Bobby), one son, Ray Weathington (Janet), one brother, Wallace Haynes, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Weathington is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Weathington, daughter, Glenda Nunnelly, parents, Thurman and Eula Haynes, brother, Billy Joe Haynes, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mrs. Weathington was a lifelong resident of Ohatchee, Alabama. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren along with working in her flower beds. She loved cooking for family and friends and holidays. Mrs. Weathington loved her church family dearly and was an active member of Ragan Chapel Methodist Church in Ohatchee, AL.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ragan Chapel Cemetery Fund.
