Funeral Service for Arthur David Williams, 85, of Jacksonville, will be held at Hatcher Ave Baptist Church at 11am on Monday, November 18th 2019 with Pastor Michael Housch officiating. Burial will follow at White’s Gap cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Mr. Williams passed away Thursday in Jacksonville.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Shirley Williams; sons Keith Gray Williams (Debbie), Richard Dale Williams (Amanda), and Donnie Ray Williams (Wendy); grandchildren Christie Bridges (William), Wade Williams, Kara Hay (Billy), Kody Williams (Megan), Phoebe Williams, Leela Williams, Makayla Williams, Taylor Williams, Savannah Williams, and Tanya Sinclair; great-grandchildren Ethan, Lexi, Nadia, Callista, Will, Madi, Caroline, A.J., and Drew; great-great grandchildren Hope, Mercy, Grace, Rain, and Nova; daughter-in-law Candace Williams; sisters Mary Johnson and Fanny Allen; brother Lender Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son David Wayne Williams; several siblings; and his parents Jesse and Letha Williams.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr. Williams worked at Union Foundry for 20+ years. He also served as a deacon at Hatcher Ave Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was a god fearing man and loved his church family. He was a carpenter and loved wood-working. In his younger days, he loved fishing and hunting, but more recently enjoyed feeding and watching the squirrels in his yard. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
