

Funeral service for Barbara Lett Rooney Chandler, 73, will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, at West Side Baptist Church in Jacksonville Ala. Burial will follow at Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, at Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Chandler completed her earthly journey just before noon on Monday.
Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Rooney Lucas, of Monroe, Georgia, Denise Rooney Thomas (Greg LaFollette), of Dallas, Texas and Lyn Webb (Kenny), of Ohatchee, Alabama; sons, Ross "Lucky" Chandler (Ann Marie) and Russell Chandler (Ellen), of Vestavia Hills Alabama; grandchildren, Jack, Michael and Nathan Lucas, Jay Webb (Rebecca), Kay Heath (Ricky), Ted Chandler, Russ and Kyle Chandler; great-grandchildren, Regan, Kollyn and Karly Webb; sister, June Richardson (John), of Jacksonville; brother, Howell Lett, of Jacksonville; nieces, Sharon Richardson, of PawPaw, West Virginia and Nancy Lett Shaw, of Jacksonville; nephews, John Richardson, of Sharpsburg, Georgia and David Richardson (Kristen), of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mrs. Chandler is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Ross Chandler, of Anniston; parents, J.D. and Alene Lett, of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law, Sutton Helvey-Chandler.
Pallbearers will be John Richardson, David Richardson, Ross "Lucky" Chandler, Russell Chandler, Ed Chandler, and Jay Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Webb, Ted Chandler, Russ Chandler, Kyle Chandler and Phillip Bullock.
Barbara was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and retired from the City of Jacksonville as the director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She was an amazing mother, grandmother and aunt. Her most beloved passion was her family and friends. She was very devoted to her daughters and their activities. She served many years as an active band booster for the Jacksonville High School Golden Eagle Marching Band. She has always been an avid fan and supporter of The Marching Southerners. Barbara also spent many years as a loving and supportive coach for both softball and cheerleading in the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation leagues.
