Barbara Dolores Owen Huckaby

Mrs. Huckaby was born in Oxford, Alabama on 3/7/1939 to Loyce & Evelyn Owen. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1957. She married Chester Huckaby on September 6, 1959 and they celebrated 56 years together before his passing. She spent her professional career at Anniston National, First Alabama and lastly Regions Bank. Ms. Huckaby and her family were faithful members of Golden Springs Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mom and Mimi and showed her love by example.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Medders (Alan) and Donna Huckaby Shaw (Rickie), and her son, Daniel Owen Huckaby; her grandchildren, Alison Duncan (Dustin), Andrea Hutchings (Philip), Kelsey Perry (Jody), Patrick Shaw (Lindsey), Maggie Carlile (Macain), and Morgan Huckaby soon to be Contris (Cole); her great grandchildren, Adelyn Duncan, Miller Hutchings, Jett Perry, Ace Perry, Caroline Shaw, and Mary Murphy Carlile; her brother, Gerald Owen (Debbie), and sister, Sharon Owen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyce & Evelyn Owen, and her husband, Chester Gay Huckaby.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Golden Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am with the service at 11:00 am. Internment will be immediately following the service at Forestlawn Gardens. Officiating services will be Dr. Roland Brown.

Serving as pall bearers will be Macain Carlile, Cole Contris, Dustin Duncan, Philip Hutchings, Jody Perry, and Patrick Shaw.
