Family history was our connection and I will always miss his dedication to finding our shared ancestors. Fly with the angels, Benjie.❤

Just recently learned of Benji's passing, and this pricked my heart deeply. He was such a kind Soul. I come here sometimes when I'm missing Dad, and find it still so very difficult to believe He, and Mrs. Blair are both gone too very soon for my heart! I keep the Memories of how Beautiful Mrs. Blair looked with her hair so pretty, and Her eyes looked like blue diamonds the last time I saw Her! She was with Benji also that day. I can't believe how much He favors Her in this Great photo of Him...I still think about the Pumpkin Rolls He made one holiday, and how awesomely tasty they were! I send my most heartfelt Condolences to each of you, especially His Beautiful Children. May God always keep you in His Comforting Arms, bringing "Peace" to you All. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays with Prayers of Safe Blessed Health. Sincerely, ~ Cindy Tatum Mobbs

I knew Benjie while in graduate school in Mississippi. While we collaborated on projects and worked many hours in the lab, we also spent a lot of time together outside the lab and became very good friends (along with Carlton) who helped each other through life. Benjie was in my wedding even after I moved from Mississippi. Benjie was not only smart and creative, he was a kind soul and a gentleman who always stood by his word.
I am sorry for your loss and that he has been taken from us way too early.

Benji made my time as a PhD student at Mississippi State University one of the best experiences of my life. My first time going to New Orleans was with Benji and we drove there several times during my 6 years at MSU. We had so much fun, even with little money.
When I lost my car in an accident, Benji let me use his car for four years. It will be hard to find someone so caring and selfless as my forever friend Dr. Benji G. Blair. He will always be one of my closest friends for eternity.

Love you Benji

Carlton

All through college I counted Benji as a great friend and brother. He was always surprising and notoriously fun. He was also one of the kindest human beings and one of the wisest I've known. I am grateful and blessed to have crossed his path in this life. I will always miss the shine about him. God speed home Benji.

You are all in my heart and in my prayers. There is nothing so painful as losing those we love. If there is anything at all that I can do please ask. In time the memories become a joy and times eases the tears and grief. Thinking of you all at this time of loss.

Benjie was a cousin I never met but I know we shared the love of family and genealogy. I hope his research into our shared Boyd family tree will be carried on by and for those loved ones he left behind. God bless and keep his family and friends and Godspeed to him. May he be reunited with our ancestors and continue to unravel our family mysteries in his divine new abode.

Benjie has been a friend since elementary school, he was always positive, made you happy to be around him. Lots of fun memories, you will be missed old friend. I extend my most heartfelt sympathy to your family and friends.

Benji is a great friend and colleague of our faculty in the Department of Biology at UAB. We recall so many good interactions over the years. We may have only seen each other at local science conferences, but we all developed a deep and respectful friendship that went well beyond our institutional boundaries. Benji is a honorable colleague who put others before himself. I have many wonderful memories and extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Benji, thanks for everything you were and everything you did. Godspeed.

My heart is breaking over the loss of a great fraternity brother and great educator at JSU. I will always remember his Pet shop and that crazy monkey! Benjie never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was a voice of reason in some of our unreasonable moments at the "House on the Hill"! He did not want anyone to feel sorry for him or let anyone know he was suffering. Rest in Peace Brother, you will be missed! HFF Brother Blair!

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends during this time of loss!
