

Bertis Ann Phillips, 64, of Anniston, AL., born December 7, 1961 went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2026, after a prolonged illness. She was a 1982 graduate of Ohatchee High School and worked for many years in Environmental Services at NEARMC. She enjoyed her work and her coworkers, and loved spending time with her family.
Bertis is survived by her son, Joseph Charles McKay; sisters Virginia Davis and Johnnie Harrison (George); one brother, Timothy Phillips (Traci); nieces Kelly Bailey, Jessica Harrison, Gabby Harrison and Texann Davis; nephews Matthew Phillips, Jonathan Davis and Joshua Harrison (Maegan); great-nieces Genesis Phillips, Arybelle Davis, Madizyn Pearson, Alyzabeth Pearson and Willow Key; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bertis is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Phillips; brothers Cecil, Jerry and Steve Phillips, nephews Christopher Phillips and James C. Phillips, Jr.; great-niece Izabella Davis and great-nephew Izayah Pearson.
Graveside services will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church, in the old cemetery, at 70 Camp Lee Main Road, Anniston, AL., at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Service will be led by Tony Green. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Davis, Joshua Harrison, Dustin Key and Thomas Key. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
