Funeral service for Betty Joy Benier, 81, born October 18, 1934, of Anniston, will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Robby Joplin officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Benier passed away Saturday at Noland Hospital-RMC.Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Benier; daughter, Milly Baker (Bob); sister, Jo Greenough; grandchildren, Robby Joplin (Crystal), Robert Baker II, Brooke Lee (Jason), Judah Baker (Kristina), and Kelsey Martz (Matt); great-grandchildren, Luke Joplin, Eli Joplin, Jude Joplin, Mason Baker, Grant Baker, Margeaux Baker, Lauryn Grace Lee, Noah Lee, and Karlie Martz; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Benier is preceded in death by her grandson, Austin Joplin; parents, Virgil and Betty Ann Allen; brothers, Jack Nixon and William Allen; sister-in-law, Mildred Nixon.Mrs. Benier was a native of Texas and a resident of Calhoun County. She worked as a switch board operator for the Civil Service V.A. Hospital.
