A woman of steady strength and quiet grace, Betty carried herself with dignity and purpose throughout her life. Her presence offered reassurance, her love was constant, and her devotion to family remained at the center of all she held dear.
Betty is survived by her children, Diane Brimer (Pokey), Belinda Kilgore (Michael), Ricky Watson (Kelley), and Scott Watson (Laurinda); her sister, Juanita Gibson (Raymond); her grandchildren, Cameron Brimer, Blaize Brimer, Mathew Goodson, and Nicole Kilgore; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Watson; her parents, Howard and Ruth Robinette; her special aunt, Leona "Bubba" Bonds; and her sisters, Mary Payne, Sarah Ledbetter, and Linda McNeal.
Funeral services for Betty will be Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Dr. Bill Snow Officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Ledbetter, Steve McClellan, Wes Gibson, Tim McNeal, Andy Bell and Tim Bowen. Honorary pallbearer will be Greg McNeal.
Betty was a member of Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church. She retired from Ft. McClellan Elementary School and the Oxford School System.
