Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Jane Ott and Eugene Perry.
He is survived by his four children, Shannon Phillips (Matt), Alana White (Chad), Daniel Perry (Kerri), and David Perry (Bethany); and his grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden, and Ella Phillips; Marlee, Tucker, Dylin, Talon, and Ajax White; Dexter Perry; and Hannah and Noah Perry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, with whom he shared close relationships.
Bill was a gifted craftsman whose talents could be seen in the homes he built and the work he created with his hands. A skilled home builder and painter, he was also an entrepreneur who built several successful businesses throughout his life. A man of faith, Bill credited his gifts and successes to God and trusted in God’s plan for his life.
Bill had an appreciation for sports cars and collector’s items. He loved telling a good story, sitting down at the piano to play and sing, and challenging someone to a game of ping-pong. He was an avid Alabama football fan and loved to do his own renditions of play calls and Bear Bryant—as well as countless other characters.
His life held many chapters, and those who knew him will carry their own memories of Bill and the life he lived.
A celebration of life for Bill will be Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
