Billy Euel Hammett Sr.

Bill was born to Euel Judson Hammett and Flonnie Faye Hammett on September 28, 1938. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Euel and Flonnie Hammett; his brothers Wayne Hammett, Mark Hammett and Oland Hammett and his sisters Shirley Herron and Earlene Mayfield.

Bill was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend Lydia "Elizabeth" Hall on October 23, 1959. They shared four beautiful children Reva (Jeff) Clendenning, Phyllis (Mark) Allen, Donna (Rodney) Gray, Billy (Jackie) Hammett Jr.; seven grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Allen, Stephanie (Trey) Arnold, Phylicia (Ben) Hollingsworth, Blake (Whitney) Gray, Wesley (Lexi) Hammett, Dawson Clendenning and Landon Clendenning and fourteen great grandchildren.

Bill was known to be a very hard working man, working from sun up until sun down to provide for his family. He loved the simple things in life as well as spending time with his precious family. He was a proud member of Westwood Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. We take refuge in knowing he is with Jesus and we will have the opportunity to hug his neck in glory.

Funeral services will be conducted at Gray Brown- Service Mortuary on Friday July 1st with visitation starting at 1:00 pm and the Eulogy at 2:00 pm by Pastor Rodney Clingan. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons Justin, Blake, Wesley, Dawson and Landon and his nephew Neal Hammett.
