Arkansas – Memorial Services for Mr. Charles W. Alexander, 68, of Springdale, Arkansas will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hr. prior to service.
Charles W. Alexander “Pop” passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Regency Hospital in Springdale, Arkansas.
Charles was born on August 19, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama a son of Lawrence B. Alexander and Ona Wynette (Padgett) Alexander. Mr. Alexander grew up at West Park Heights Baptist Church and was the music director in the 1960’s, worked at Lee Brass for 24 years before moving to Arkansas where he retired in January 2012 , as a purchasing agent for American Tubing Inc. in Springdale; he enjoyed fishing, boating and loved spending time with his family. With his caring domineer and wise advice he was known as a father figure to many.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Kay (Wolfe) Alexander; 3 sons, Charles W. Alexander Jr. “Chuck” and wife Michelle of Fayetteville, AR., Michael Alan Alexander and wife Tina Hutchins Alexander of Oxford, AL., and Mitchell “Shane” Alexander of Springdale, AR.; 7 grandchildren, Courtney Adams, Jeremy Alexander, Justin Alexander, Taylor Alexander, Madison Alexander, Jonathan Carlsmith and Kristina Carlsmith; 2 great grandchildren, Lanie and Amelia; brother, Johnnie L. Alexander and wife Joan of Bynum, AL.; sister, Linda Alexander McDaniel and husband Billy of Kennesaw, GA.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene and Dr. Manuel DeLosSantos of San Antonio, TX.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence B. and Ona Wynette Alexander.
In Lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
