

Alexandria – Graveside services for Mr. Charles Richard Bridges, 82, of Alexandria was held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Coffman officiating. Visitation was Sunday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Mr. Bridges passed peacefully Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home in Alexandria. Mr. Bridges is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Randy) Bruni, and Jean (Pat) Waugh; son, Kevin (Ann) Bridges; sisters, Margaret Ramsey, and Syble (Johnny) Tucker; brothers, Lin (Doris) Bridges, and Terry (Sherryl) Bridges; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Bridges; mother, Willie Bridges; father, E.A. Bridges; sisters, Gwen Bridges, and Hazel Stedham; daughter, Diane Nelson; daughter-in-law, Melissa Bridges; and grandson, Klint Nelson. Mr. Bridges was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County; he was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Marines, and was retired from Ranger Transportation and for the past 20 years he enjoyed working in his garden.
