Charlie dedicated his life to law enforcement and community service, leaving a lasting impact on those he served and worked with. Charlie began his illustrious career in law enforcement as a police officer in Fort Payne, Al, and served the Anniston Police Department from 1968 until his retirement in 1992. Not one to remain idle, he continued his commitment to public safety as a reserve deputy with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department until his passing. His dedication extended beyond his professional life as he was an active member of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine since 1976 and a devout member of the Masonic Lodge for 58 years.
Charlie attended the Police Academy in Montgomery, Al, and the FBI Special Tactical Firearms School in Quantico, VA, where he was well-respected for his clever, loyal, strong, hard-working, and family-oriented nature. He was also an attendee of Gladeview Baptist Church.
Charlie leaves behind his loving family, wife; Edwina Hall; son Louis Hall; future daughter-in-law Sabrina Haynes; sister in law Dorothy Ray; Tina Brown (David) brother in law Robert Harrison; grandchildren Sheila Hall Schumacher (Courtney) Charles Dell Hall ( Destiny); great grandchildren Cade Schumacher; Aaron Hall; aunt Joyce Landers; cousin Janice Stevens and his cousin John Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Louis Evelyn (Elsie) Hall; grandparents Charles Harvey (Lucille) Hall.
A visitation for Charlie will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 542 West 52nd Street, Anniston, AL 36206, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Charlies commitment to his community and his loving nature will be remembered by all who knew him.
Charlie will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery, 505 9th Street SW, Fort Payne, AL 35967.
