

Funeral service for Clyde L. Wesson, 93, of Pell City formerly of Oxford, will be 1 pm Friday, January 29, 2021, at Eulaton United Methodist Church with Rev. Sherri Elliott officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 am – 1 pm at the church. Mr. Wesson passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Vincent’s St. Clair in Pell City.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Wesson (Susan) and Mark Wesson (Lisa), sister, Johnnie Ruth Edmondson, grandchildren, Christie Morgan (Scotty), Samantha Wesson, Evan Wesson, Joe Cargal, Heather Angel (Jeremy), great-grandchildren, Madison Morgan, Maci Morgan, Kaleb Cargal, Kolby Cargal, Kory Cargal, Kayla Angel, Allison “Alli” Angel and Brandon Angel, longtime companion, Betty Heise, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wesson is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Wesson, parents, Marvin and Mavies Wesson siblings, Ralph Wesson, Lowell Wesson, Frank Wesson, Earl Wesson Sr., Wallace Wesson, Vera Tharin, Louise Martin, Joy Brickhouse and Marie Boone.
Pallbearers will be Dale Edmondson, Lamar Brickhouse, Earl Wesson Jr., Wally Wesson, Andy Wesson and Alan Wesson.
Mr. Wesson was a native of Talladega County and a longtime resident of Calhoun County. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and retired from Anniston Army Depot after 40 years of service. Mr. Wesson was a member and past president of the Board of Directors of the AOD Federal Credit Union. The Lenlock branch was named in his honor as the Clyde L. Wesson Building. He was a longtime member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed dancing, he and Betty would go dancing three and four times a week. They also liked to travel and enjoyed spending time together.
