Cynthia Danforth Prather died peacefully at her home, Thursday, October 12th, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Robert W. "Bobby" Prather IV; her children, Elizabeth (Lucien) Bucci (Flagstaff, AZ), Michael Noto (Denver, CO), Brett (Ellen) Noto (Florence, AL), Bryan (Mary) Noto (Evergreen, CO), and Jackson (Jessica) Prather (Northport, AL); her step-children, Libby Prather (Houston, TX) and Robert Prather (Anniston, AL); her eleven precious grandchildren, Basil Gray, Magnolia and Ashton Bucci, Margaret Salamoff, Violet and Vera Prather, Madeline Noto, Abigail, Hailey, and Piper Noto, and Thomas Prather; her father, William "Bill" H. Danforth; and her siblings, David, Maebelle, and Beth Danforth. Her mother, Elizabeth "Ibby" Danforth, who welcomes her into heaven with a warm embrace, preceded her in death. Cindy, as her family and friends knew her, was born on January 10th, 1957 in St. Louis, MO. That city always held a dear place in her heart, even as she lived in many other places across the country: Indiana, Guam, Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, and eventually, Alabama. Everywhere she went she left an impression with her infinite generosity, warmth of spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Indeed, she devoted her life and love to her family: her husband, children, and grandchildren, which provided her with the greatest joy. She cherished her friends, which she made easily and often. She loved spending time in her flower garden in the spring and watching Alabama football in the fall. Mrs. Prather's services will be held at Gray Brown Service Funeral Home with family receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. on October 22nd 2017 "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, a time to reap that which is planted." -Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
