Darlene Smith

The Lord took our precious angel, Darlene Smith, 48 of Weaver, home on Saturday, June 25, 2016 after a short hard-fought battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded and comforted by family.

A funeral service will be 2 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Rev. Keith Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time.

Survivors include her parents, Thomas and Flora Smith; sister, Denise (Jimmy); brothers, Tommy and John (Laurel); nieces and nephews, Chris (Katie), Shelbie, Tray, Abby and Phillip; great nieces and nephews, Tattum, Taylor, Emma, Aaliyah, Chris II, Grady and a host of extended family.

Darlene meant so much to so many. All our lives were touched by her strong willpower and caring and generous nature. She gave joy to all who loved her. We will miss her greatly and carry her memory in our hearts until we meet again.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Darlene’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
