David Lee Parnell, best known as Lee, left this world on December 21, 2023 after a brief, unexpected illness. He will be missed by all who ever knew him for he never met a stranger. His love of God, life, family, friends, and a good story was well known. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Lee is survived by the love of his life for nearly 41 years, Janet Bush Parnell; his light and daughter, Etta Parnell Richards; her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Jasper, Henry, Alwyn and Evelyn; his comrade in arms and son Evan Forrester Parnell; his wife, Tiffany; grandchildren Maren, Dylan and Rylin; and mother, Sarah Parnell.
Lee was a musician, an Army veteran, worked in construction and owned his own countertop business for twenty years after which he continued to work in the field. In the last few years he had semi-retired in order to spend more time with his family. He led by example in all things with God as his center.
He always loved the obituary that a woman wrote about her husband. When told it was too short, she added something to the effect of "1985 Ford truck for sale, good condition." Words are not enough to describe our Leebo. If you met him, you knew him.

A visitation will be held at Gray Brown Funeral Home in Anniston, Alabama on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1 pm to 3 pm to celebrate his life and share stories.
