Funeral services for Dessie Thompson, 87, of Anniston will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at New Covenant Church of God with Rev. John Kotlowski officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary.
Survivors include her sons, James Hurst Sr. and James Hurst Jr.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Cosden; step-daughter, Elizabeth and Pat Chapman and Ruth and Paul Adams; grandson, James Jerrod Hurst; sisters, Daphine Grubbs, Jessie Golson, Helen Trantham; and brother, Gerald Lee Kellum.
Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband, Walter G. Thompson.
