I am so sorry to learn of Diane's death.  She and I grew up together but had lost touch thru the years...My thoughts and prayers are for all of her loved ones!

This small space does not allow proper room for me to express my gratitude for what D.D. did for me. She took me in and listened to my every tell of woe and then there were the times that we would giggle like school girls. There will continue to be those special times when I think of her with a smile, until we meet again in Heaven. And oh what a day that's going to be!

We knew Ms. Diane for many years, sweet lady & have very fond memories of our times with her & Billy Joe. Love you & rest in peace!!

Esther and I will long remember Diane's sweet smile and conversations from the church Phu in front of us at Ohatcgee COC and will forever miss her beautiful smile and personality.

I had the honor of working alongside Diane for a few years at the St. Clair County Library HQ in Ashville. At that time I was completing my degree at JSU, but I originally grew up in Pell City; needless to say, we quickly found common interests in the roots we shared. Diane treated me like an extension of her family, like one of her own. Although I haven't had the privilege of meeting you all, I've heard enough stories about Scott, Shane, and their families to feel as though we're old friends. On many occasions, I'd chat with Ms. Elrod when she would call from the cleaners to talk with Diane about one thing or another. It was obvious the remarkable bond that this mother-daughter duo shared. To anyone who knew Diane well enough to see the beautiful soul within her, it was evident that her family was the center of her world. Despite leaving behind her earthly body, I am certain that her faith has promoted her transition to everlasting life. No more pain, no sickness, but rather eternal rest and healing within the arms of her savior. May you all find peace in knowing that her pain is gone, yet her spirit lives on. My prayer is that you all are wrapped in the comforting embrace of the Holy Spirit in the days ahead.

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
