

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris E. Miller, our Nonnie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and business owner, who left this world on November 24, 2024, at the age of 88. known for her boundless energy, unwavering love for her family, and fierce determination. Doris will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
A woman of remarkable strength and spirit. Doris was a proud builder of both business and relationships. It was her passion to help grow Bill Miller Photographers from the kitchen table into the successful business it is today. Yet, it was her heart for people that made her unforgettable.
As a mother, she was a fierce protector, always putting her family first and providing them with a home filled with love and laughter. Her children were the center of her universe, and she poured every ounce of herself into ensuring they knew they were cherished. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren were also blessed to feel the embrace of her affection, as she loved them with the same fiery devotion that defined her character.
Those who knew her were captivated by her loud, proud personality - she made herself known wherever she went. Whether at family gatherings at Bill Miller Photographers, or at the local Foodland. Her presence was larger than life. Her laughter was infectious, and her stories, often filled with joy and humor, brought light in every room she entered. She lived her life with an intensity and vibrancy that few could match, and her legacy will continue by inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Doris was blessed with a loving family and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law. Alan and LonnaMiller and daughter-in-law Teresa Miller (Bill Miller Jr.): her grandchildren, Casie and Joel Spencer, Abby and Travis Mattox, JonRiley Miller, Josh Whitley ( Michelle), and Justin Whitley ( Maggie): her great - grandchildren, Miller Spencer, Elsie Mattox, and Memphis Spencer, Georgia Mattox, and Ledger Whitley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Miller Sr., her son, Bill Miller Jr., her parents, Horace and Mary Frances Jones, and her siblings, Jean Martin and Ripp Jones.
Serving as pallbearers are JonRiley Miller, Joel Spencer, Travis Mattox, Miller Spencer, Jimmy Huckeba, Michael Clark.
Visitation for Doris will begin on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 beginning at 11:30 am. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm. with Mike Owens officiating, followed by graveside at Maple Grove Cemetary.
