Drexel is survived by his daughters Renee Walker; and Alison Walker Smith; his grandchild Hannah Smith Few (Kegan), his great grandchildren Linley Kate Few, and Lane Few and his niece Robin Huckabee Sansom (John).
Drexel was preceded in death by his wife Linda Jane Walker; his father Marvin D. Walker and his mother Lula Bell Walker; his sister Carolyn D. Huckabee and his infant brother.
Funeral services for Drexel will be Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Brad Kimble officiating. Burial will follow with at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Kegan Few, Jamey Crawford and Jamie Burdette.
Drexel was a native of Blount County and a resident of Clay County. He graduated BB Comer High School in 1956 and was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Ashland. Drexel joined the US Army in 1961 and retired in 1980 where he served in the Vietnam War and also retiring from East Alabama Skill Center with the State of Alabama. Drexel enjoyed working in his yard tending to his flowers and Amerilo's. He made homemade walking sticks that he whittled by hand and love spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
