Eddie Earl Fordham
February 18, 1953 – June 19, 2018
Funeral services for Eddie Earl Fordham, 65 of Oxford will be 1:00 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Pastor Steve McGinnis officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday at the funeral home.
Eddie went to be with the Lord following a lengthy illness on June 19, 2018. He passed away at home surrounded by his family.
He was a lifelong resident of the Anniston-Oxford area. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1970 and retired in 2009 from a career in sales. He enjoyed fishing, riding around – stopping along the way to look at junk or to talk to people – and talking is what he enjoyed most. He never met a stranger and loved telling stories and making people laugh.
Eddie was a member of The Church of the Good Shepard Presbyterian Church. He was baptized July 13, 2012 at Hillabee Lake in Oxford by Reverend Barry Jenkins. Attending this celebration was Lamar Dill, who Eddie affectionately called his “husband-in-law”, his dear friend Clifford Kellum and many others. He was a kind and generous soul who deeply loved his family and friends.
He is survivors by his wife of 34 years, Annette Williams Fordham; son, Shane Fordham; daughter, Kerri Moore (Alan); grandson, Landon Cade Moore (whom he called “Cader-Raider). He is also survived by sisters, Sandra Amos of Villa Rica, Ga and Belinda Fordham (Amy Miller) of Saks; brother, Wayne Jackson (Melba) of Oxford; brother-and sister-in-law, Mike and Denise McCullars of Glencoe; nephews, Pat Amos (Sue) of Dallas, Ga., Jeff Amos of Villa Rica, Ga., Brodie Fordham of Saks; niece, Reggie Dean of Oxford and several great nephews and nieces.
He is also survived by his many life-long friends, special friend, Wanda Straub of Athens, Ga., and his four legged companions, Carly and Daisy.
Eddie expressed his special thanks to Dr. A. Aylor – for his caring concern and kindness over the years – and every staff member of Alabama Hospice – especially his nurse, Martha. He said “I love the people at Alabama Hospice and I know they love me in return”. Eddie and the family also wanted to express their gratitude to Pastor Steve and very special relatives, Rodney and Pam Haynes for all that they did for them.
Pallbearers will be Matt Johnson, Jackson Dean, Roger Cody, Alan Moore, Mike McCullars and Jimmy Hawkins.

I would like to thank everyone for their sympathy and support during this difficult time in my life.
Everyone who knew Eddie knew he had such a big, generous and loving heart. The outpouring of love and support has truly touched my heart and I want to thank you all.
His family, Wayne, Melba, Reggie, Sandra, Pat, Sue, Jeff, Belinda, Amy, Brodie, Kerri, Alan, Cade, Shane, Denise, Mike, Pam, Rodney , Carolyn, Sonny and great nieces and nephews all feel a great loss as do his many friends.
Thanks to Pastor Steve who delivered the most personal and beautiful service. He has since helped with my grief and pain for losing such a wonderful person. I know he is now with The Lord and for that, I cannot be sad.
Again, I thank and love you all.
