Graveside services for Mr. Edward “Ed” D. Parsons Jr., 84, of Cartersville, GA, will be Friday, September 17th, 2021, 11:30 a.m. at Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery, with Pastor Keith Dempsey officiating. The family would like to welcome friends for visitation at Gray Brown Service Mortuary, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mr. Parsons passed away on September 13th 2021.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Turner and her husband Ken; sisters, Linda Cater and her husband Richard, Cathy Turley; grandson, Wesley Green, including a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parsons is preceded in death by his dad, Edward D. Parsons Sr. and his mom, Kadell Brown Parsons Mann, and his step-father, Bunch Harrison Mann; wife, Eloise Holmes Parsons.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Green, Chad Cater, Dwayne Holmes, Joey East, Grant Hammond, and Kenneth H. Turner Jr.
Ed was a devoted and die-hard Alabama football fan. He was known for being a very generous person and having a great sense of humor. He would always have a joke or funny story to tell. Ed also served in the United States Army where he gave his service to the Korean Conflict. During that period, he served in helping with the orphanage where he met a sweet little girl named Kim. He decided to name his daughter, Kim, after the little girl he made a bond with. Ed was loved by many and will be missed by those who knew him.
