Weaver –Funeral services for Emma Lee Clark 91, will be Saturday October 06, at 2:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Clark passed away on September 30, 2018.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Bloomfield of Louisville Kentucky, Rebecca Dobbs of Weaver AL,, Cheryl Spencer of Jacksonville, FL.,; sons Kenneth (Lori) Clark of EL Paso, TX., David (Brenda) Clark of Clarksville, TN.; sisters, Louise (Aubrey) Canada of Lincoln, AL; sister-in-law, Faye Clay of Anniston, AL; brothers Colvin “Sonny” ( Mardell) Clay of Cedar Springs, AL., Dennis (Bert) Clay of Southside, AL.; Grandchildren David Clark, Scott Bloomfield, Ryan Dobbs, Jennifer Gann, Ashley Bloomfield, Skip Clark, Lisa Carri. Great Grandchildren: Haylee Gann, Corey Clark, Alexis Thomas, Tyler Bloomfield, Jordan Bloomfield, Ashton Thomas, Nicky Gann, Haley Clark, Clay Clark, Elena Clark, Elysa Clark; and 1 great-great grandchild Rhyan Grill; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde Clark, grandson Rusty Clark, brothers Mike Clay, Bill Clay and parents Colvin and Willie Mae Clay.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Clark, David A. Clark, David Clark, Skip Clark, Ryan Dobbs and Scott Bloomfield.
Emma was born and raised in Weaver AL. The eldest child of Colvin and Willie Mae Clay. She was part sister and part second mother to her five younger siblings. After graduating high school, she married a young handsome soldier, Clyde F. Clark and spent the next 24 years married to him and the Army. During this time she had and raised 5 children and had the amazing ability to make each one feel special and like they were “the favorite”. Her love for them was fierce as is their love for her. She managed and held the family together during countless moves and separations. In 1968 Clyde retired from the Army and they moved back to Weaver where she was widowed in 1990. She continued to live with grace and happiness as she traveled with friends and family as she continued her work with the Shrine Ladies of the East Alabama Shrine club. Emma was a strong, funny, warm, independent and beautiful person who never lost that childlike enjoyment of life. She was the Matriarch of both the Clay and Clark families. Emma was a light in this world that continues to shine in the hearts of each of her 5 children.
