

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Mrs. Ernestine Lee Lonergan Cobb was born on May 27, 1930, in Lincoln, Alabama, to the late Ernest Lee Lonergan and Ida Geneva Camp Lonergan. She was a long-time resident of Oxford, Alabama where she devoted many years to her family as a homemaker before later working at Tape Craft Corporation from which she retired.
Mrs. Cobb was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church for many years. Throughout her life, she faced much tragedy and uncertainty, particularly in her younger years. Through it all, she persevered with quiet strength and determination, always doing her best for herself and her family.
Mrs. Cobb went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 23, 2026.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Cobb, her siblings, Nellie (Horace) O’Kelley & J.C. (Clois) Abrams and her son-in-law, Rev. Rick Reaves.
She is survived by her three children, Bobby (Voncile) Ezell, Janice (Rev. Rick) Reaves, & Debbie (Rev. Garry) Ragsdale, six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, & four great-great-grandchildren all of whom cherish her memory.
Service will be held at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The service will be officiated by her grandson, Reverend Greg Ragsdale. Visitation for friends and extended family will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00p.m.
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
