Mrs. Eunice Higginbotham, 94, lived a long, full, and happy life. She passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Higginbotham was a longtime resident of Glenaddie. She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne (Sheila) Higginbotham and Robert Earl Higginbotham; her grandchildren, Meko Venegas, Shaa' Bolt, and Jessie (Matt) Gannon; her great-grandchildren, Blakeli Bolt, Makenzi (Christian) Brotherton, Isabela Venegas, Walker Bolt, and Violet Gannon; and her great-great-grandchildren, Jett Whaley, and Oakleigh Rose Brotherton. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Willis; her brothers, Jimmy (Martha) Crossley and Gerald (Sue) Crossley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, she is lovingly remembered by her chosen family: Sherry Wilson, Jake Peeples, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Higginbotham; her daughter, Myra Sue Higginbotham; her parents Homer G. Crossley and Nannie L. Crossley; her sisters, Sara Brown and Margie Austin; and her brothers, Harold Crossley and Bobby Crossley.
Mrs. Higginbotham retired from Blue Mountain Cotton Mill after 44 years of dedicated service. She was a longtime member of Glenaddie Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Oxford, a devoted mother and "MawMaw," compassionate, fiercely independent, and the beloved matriarch of her family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who loved and cared for Mrs. Higginbotham throughout her life. A special thank you is extended to Clay County Hospice Care, along with the nurses and caregivers, for the compassion and comfort they provided during her final months.
