

She was born to parents Felix Howell & Evie Bonner Howell on October 22, 1917 in Heflin, AL
She is preceded in death by her parents, first-born Dorothy Mae Hamm, husbands: Houston Hamm & Howard M Bell, sister, Margie Parrish, and brothers, Tom, B.F., Pete and Charles Howell.
Eva is survived by her daughters: Shirley H Goode (Sam) of Moody, Debbie B Kitchin (Claude-Bud) of Lincoln, sons: John David Hamm (Mary) of Ohatchee, Otha G Hamm (Joy) of Alexandria, Donald H Hamm (Anita) of Saks, Kenny Bell (Lori) of Jacksonville, and Gary L Bell (Janel) of Knoxville, TN. Eva also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Beatrice Kincaid and Dolly Naegeli of Portland, TN, Martha Price and Lucy Schofield of Anniston, along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including her beloved dog, Teco.
Eva, also affectionately known as Granny Bell, Sis, and Aunt Sis, has enjoyed retirement for 30 years and was a long time member of Alexandria Church of God. She enjoyed fishing and was known to catch fish when others around couldn’t get a bite. The family wishes to thank her precious caregivers: Martha, Sharleen, Betty, Lindsey, Lynda and the staff of Meadowood Retirement Village and Gentiva Hospice for their tender loving care. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 at Gray Brown Service Chapel with Pastor Byron Duke officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Baptist Cemetery, Heflin, AL. Her grandsons will have the honor of serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service.
