Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Arnold Humphries, 82 of Anniston will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Gray Brown-Service funeral home with Rev. Earl Tucker and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Humphries is survived by his daughter, Janet Humphries (William) Klarman; sons, Gerald (Janice) Humphries, Darrell (Linda) Humphries, and Brian (Jackie) Humphries; grandchildren, Gerald Humphries, Rebecca Hill, Jennifer Pembrook, Amy Poore, Timothy Humphries, Christopher Humphries, Jennifer Karasevich, Darrell Humphries Jr., Matthew Humphries, Tiffany Spradlin, Jessica Ruger, and Justin Ruger; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
Mr. Humphries was preceded in death by his, wife, Barbara Humphries.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Mr. Humphries was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of New Cannan Baptist Church and served as one of the deacons of the church. He played bass guitar for many years with the New Cannon Quartet, the Bill Cobb Trio, and the Messengers. Mr. Humphries served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
