Gene Earl Dotson

Anniston – A memorial service for retired Sergeant Major Gene E. Dotson, 77, will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Clingan and Rev. Bryan Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1pm - until service time at the funeral home with the committal service to follow at Fort McClellan Cemetery.

Mr. Dotson passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 in Gadsden.

Survivors include his daughter, Jeanie (Bryan) Dotson Simpson; son, Steven (Debbie) Dotson; stepchildren, Ramona F. (Larry) Third, Ronald (Sharon) Forsyth, Patricia (Roy) Bryant; brother, Larry (MaryAnn) Dotson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Dotson is preceded in death by his wife, Clydell E. Dotson; parents, Curtis A. and Kathryn L. Dotson; step-sons, Everette and Richard Forsyth; brother, Curtiss L. Dotson

He was a native of San Antonio, TX and resident of Calhoun County. He retired after 30 years in the U.S. Army Chemical Corp. He served in Vietnam and received many medals for his service to his country.
