Grady Edward Rhodes Sr of Anniston passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6th 2026 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Choccolocco Alabama with Mark Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until service time.
Grady was born on May 29th, 1932 in Calhoun County where he lived in the Blue Mountain community graduated from Alexandria High School and Graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in business. He then married Sarah Rhodes in 1963. After the marriage the couple moved to Anniston where they lived for the next 60 years.
Grady worked at Turner Dairy for 8 years, Anchor Metals for 27 years and JD Burgess Trucking 27 years before retiring. He was a wonderful father to two boys Eddie Rhodes (Karen) and Michael Rhodes (Christy)
He enjoyed anything with his church, camping, trips with family and friends and he loved his kids and grandchildren.
He was a member at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church since he was 10 years old and had served faithfully as deacon for over 60 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sarah Rhodes. His parents Jay and Alice Rhodes. His brothers Fletcher and Ralph. His sisters Lillie Mae Goss, Mozelle Halcome, Edna Scott and Kathryn Jones.
He is survived by his two sons Eddie and Michael. Daughters in Law Karen and Christy. Grandchildren Brent (Jasmine), Ryan, Allison, Jordan, Bailey, Riley and one Great Grandson John Michael Rhodes.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Rhodes, Ryan Rhodes, Steve Betsill, Jay Rhodes, Jabez Halcome.
