Harold was born on a cold, snowy night on February 27, 1947, and lived a life centered on faith, family, and the outdoors. A member of Patton Chapel, Harold was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and love for spending time with those he held dear.
In his younger years, Harold enjoyed riding horses and competing alongside his brother Stanley. He was especially proud of his beloved horse, Belle Star Dee, and often came out the winner in their friendly competitions.
Harold loved deer hunting, fishing, running dogs, and trading dogs with friends. Some of his happiest memories were made taking his grandsons, Jake and Josh, to Collinsville and Snider’s, sharing stories, hunting, and enjoying time together. He passed down his love for the outdoors and family traditions to those he loved.
Harold and his wife of nearly 50 years, Jo, enjoyed traveling and taking road trips together. One memorable adventure took them all the way to California to visit his sister-in-law, Linda. Their marriage was filled with love, companionship, and many cherished memories.
Above all, Harold loved his family. He treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and friends.He enjoyed taking the grands riding, going to their ball games, picking them up from school, basically anything that involved them. He would often refer to the great grandchildren as his “best buddies” His legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will continue through the many lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo W. Ford; his parents, Troy and Mayo Ford; his brothers, Thomas Ford and Colvin Ford; his sister, Gladys Ford; and his grandchildren, Cooper Ford and Lily Ford.
He is survived by his daughters Cindy Ford, Rebecca Williams (Luis), and Traci Connell (Jody); son Michael Ford (Kayla); sisters, Linda Crim (Calvin) and Connie Blizzard; his brothers, Kenny Ray Ford (Nora), Robert Ford (Punkin), and Stanley Ford (Beverly); grandchildren Jake Ford, Josh Ford, Brianna Ford (Chris), Jeremiah Taylor (Alex), Jackson Connell, Gage Connell, Ashley Williams, Brodie Williams, Nathan Williams (Megan), Fallon Riddley (Dylan), and Eli Ford; great grandchildren Channing Hallmark, Jocelyn Hallmark, Skyler Conway, Traxton Conway, Layla Taylor, Tenley Taylor, JR Ford, Clay Ford, Kylan Riddley, Lolly Riddley, Elliott Williams, and Palmer Williams; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Harold’s life was a blessing to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions passed down, and the love that remains in the hearts of his family forever.
There will be a visitation for Harold on Thursday, June 25,2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Funeral Service will be Friday, June 26, 2026, beginning at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Patton Chapel Cemetery. Officiating services will be Bro. Alan Layton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Ford, Jackson Connell, Gage Connell, Stan Ford, Chris Hallmark, Jeremiah Taylor, Brodie Williams, and Nathan Williams.
