Mrs. Hazel Ruby Cameron Ferragina

Anniston - A Celebration of Life Service for Hazel Ruby Ferragina, 87, will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010, 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Saks, with Dr. Randy Postell and Dr. Billy Harris officiating. Mrs. Ferragina will be at the church one hour before service. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens, with Chapel Hill Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Ferragina went to Heaven to be with Jesus on Friday, December 17, 2010, at NHC Healthcare.

Hazel Ferragina is survived by sons: Gordon (Selina) Ferragina, Brentwood, TN; Joe “Butch” (Kay) Ferragina, Franklin, TN; daughters: Rosemary (George) Haynes, Anniston, AL; Gina (Reed) Kennedy, Blacksburg, VA; son-in-law: Alan Haynie, Houston, TX; grandchildren: Yolanda (Steve) Heiberger, Vestavia Hills, AL; Paige (Bill) Bainbridge, Nashville, TN; Brandon Haynes, Anniston, AL; Tyler (Jennifer) Haynes, Gardendale, AL; R. J. Ferragina, Franklin, TN; Randy (Kristin) Ferragina, Franklin, TN; Austin Kennedy, Blacksburg, VA; Neal Kennedy, Blacksburg, VA; Tara Wagner (Jim), Missouri City, TX; Tracey Turner, Llano, TX; Tammy (Bryant) Hiskey, Houston, TX; fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Martin, Bill Elkins, Johnny Green, Leon Reaves, and John Bonds.

Hazel will be remembered as a loving mother, a faithful Christian, for having a contagious smile, and for never being at a loss for words. She served her church, First Baptist Church of Saks, in various capacities, including Sunday school teacher, missions’ teacher, and for twenty-five years, served as the Women’s Missionary Union Director. She also served for a time as Calhoun Baptist Association WMU Director. Nothing uplifted her more than meeting, visiting, and helping others. Hazel retired from Kitchens Department Store after working in the Children’s Department for a number of years.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Saks.
