Helen Merita Gowen Youngblood

Ohatchee - Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Merita Youngblood, 81 of Ohatchee will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Frederick Whitt officiating with burial following at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening, November 24, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Youngblood passed away November 19, 2014 at her home in Ohatchee.

Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her daughters, Helen Becky (Stuart) Hedrick and Linda Gayle (George) Dunn; sons, Charles (Delane) Youngblood, and Philip Youngblood; grandchildren, Kathy Butts, Leslie Keeler, Cindy Blair, Tonya Martin, Rebecca Gale, Colby Youngblood, Kyle Youngblood, Melissa Wingard, Lonnie Dunn, and Bonnie Foy; and twelve great grandchildren.

Mrs. Youngblood was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Youngblood Sr.; mother, Hattie Mae Williams; father, KC Gowen; sisters, Mary Hassenplug, and Sarah “Tootsie” Woods; grandson, Rickey Wayne Martin.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Youngblood, Colby Youngblood, Ricky Shierling, David Pugh, Randy Pugh, and Tommy Dunn.

Mrs. Youngblood was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama. Family would like to send a special thanks to Alacare Hospice.
