Mr. James H Fisher Sr

Jim went to be with the Lord just 3 days shy of his 79th birthday, on May 15 2019, at the Munnerstadt Hospital, in Munnerstadt, Germany, after a lengthy struggle with COPD.

Born May 18, 1940 in Gray, PA, son of the late Kenneth C. and Catherine (Kozel) Fisher. Jim graduated from Somerset, PA, Class of 1958. After graduation, he joined the US Army serving for 28 years 6 months, retired as a decorated Sergeant Major E-9, in 1987.

Survived by wife, Rita (Busch-Marcial-Simon) of Giebelstadt, Germany, daughter, Brigitte Simon (Glen) of Joppa, MD; son, James H. Fisher Jr. (Angie) of Alexandria, AL; grandchildren, Nicole Jacobs, Chris Simon of Joppa, MD., Ashley McCulley, Dalton Fisher, and three great-grandchildren, all of Alexandria, AL; sisters, Mary Jane Burns, of Wheat Ridge, CO., Alice Benford (Delbert) of Friedens, PA and Ruth Shaulis (Bud) of Hampton, VA.

Jim is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Ike Dettling, and Willis C. Fisher; sister, Marion Sherwood; grandson, Brandon Dodgen and borther-in-law; Robert L. Burns.

Jim was very much loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Details of internment at Christ Casebeer Luthern Church Cemetery, Somerset Pike, Somerset, PA., Military honors and memorial service will be announced at a later date.
