

Funeral services for Mr. James “Aaron” Humphries, 63, of Oxford, will be at 1 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in Anniston with Pastor Rev W.H. Ford and Reverend Jeremy Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12-1 pm at the funeral home prior to service.
Mr. Humphries passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Jacksonville Health and Rehab.
Aaron was born the 7th child, with special needs, of a family with 10 children. He will be remembered walking the streets of Oxford in overalls with a police scanner in his pocket. He loved waving at all his “friends” and his daily trips to the city hall to talk with Mayor Leon Smith.
Aaron attended Oak Hill Baptist Church.
He loved the Lord, family, community, Diet Coke, Jack’s, police scanners, Radio Shack and wearing lots of watches.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Harrell Humphries, brother,Roger Humphries,
nephew, Kyle Humphries, sister in law, Malinda Humphries.
Mr. Humphries is survived by his sisters, Valera Sanders (Bobby) of Oxford, Brenda Brimer (Michael) of Oxford, Vickey Smith (Greg) of Saks, and Telina Bryant (Tim) of Oxford; brothers, Manuel Humphries (Teresa) of Eastaboga, Faron Humphries of DeArmanville, Rickey Humphries (Susie) of Alexandria, Kenneth Humphries (Shelia) of Oxford, sister-in-law, Rhonda Humphries Morgan (Ricky) of Oxford; along with many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Jacksonville Health and Rehab for taking such wonderful care of Aaron in his last years.
