Jimmy Carl Bishop Sr.

Funeral service for Mr. Jimmy Carl Bishop, 77, of Fruithurst will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with Rev. James Owens and Rev. Wayne Pike officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-8:00pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mr. Bishop died Tuesday at his residence.

Survivors include wife, Elaine Lockridge Bishop of Fruithurst; daughter, Leann Bishop Boswell of East Peoria, IL; son, Jimmy Carl Bishop, Jr. of Anniston, Ralph Daniel Headrick and Christopher L. Headrick, both of Piedmont; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters, June Marlowe of Lincoln and Julie Bishop of Huntsville; 14 nieces and 15 nephews.

Pallbearers will be military. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Jonathan Roberts, Codey Roberts, Michael Headrick, David Headrick and Josh Coppock.

Mr. Bishop was a native of Gadsden. He had 26 years of naval services and two years’ service in Vietnam. Mr. Bishop was a Mason for 51 years; he was also a Shriner and was of the Baptist faith.
