John Blain Gerowski

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Blain Gerowski, who passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. He took his final breath in the comfort of his own home and surrounded with love.

John Blain Gerowski, at the age 67, was a devoted father to Danielle Gerowski-Newell (Brandon Newell), Deanna Gerowski, and Nicholas Gerowski (Katie Burks Gerowski). He was also a cherished Grandfather, or Pop, to his beloved Emorie Gerowski and Sage Gerowski. He was a loyal brother to his sister, Judy Mills, and Uncle to Jennifer Louise Casey (Jason Casey and their daughters Julia and Morgan Casey) and Aimee Hartigan (Mike Hartigan and their twin sons Myles and Malcolm Hartigan). He was preceded in death by his parents John A. Gerowski and Margery E. (Brimson) Gerowski.

John Gerowski was born on August 15, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. He was known for his excellent leadership in the United States Army, his unique sense of humor, and his love for Detroit Red Wings. He dedicated his life to the United States Army, specifically as Military Police, a Drill Sergeant, and decorated combat veteran, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, determination, integrity, and perseverance.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston, Alabama; visitation starts at 2:00 Pm with a service following at 3:00 Pm. His final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetary, date to be determined.
