
Graveside services for John B. Pollard of Wartburg, Tennessee, formerly of Weaver, will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Reverend John Justice officiating. His family will receive friends at Gray Brown Mortuary on Friday, February 11, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. John passed away on February 8, 2011. He was 74 years old.
John is survived by his wife, Georgia Pollard; his children, Charles A. Pollard and his wife, Kathy, of Anniston, and Lou Ann Pollard of Weaver; his grandson, Jake Pollard and his wife, Lauren, of Oxford; his step-daughters, Kelly Coada and Connie Wadley of Oakridge, Tennessee and Patricia Greene of Wartburg, Tennessee; his uncles, George (Tuck) Pollard and his wife, Sue, and Jack Pollard of Wartburg, Tennessee; his sisters-in-law, Wilma Griffith of Kingston, Tennessee, and Betty Caylor and her husband, Bill, of Oakridge, Tennessee; his brothers-in-law, Scott Roysden and his wife, Linda of Conyers, Georgia, and George Roysden of Union Point, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Virginia Mae Pollard; his wife, Patricia Pollard; his brothers, Billy Joe Pollard, Jody Summers, and Jack Pollard; his sister, Carrie Ullmer; his mother-in-law, Teenie Richardson; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Griffith.
John served 22 years in the US Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from Anniston Army Depot, and also from the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department. John loved his family and friends, and seldom met a stranger. He is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Larry Amerson, John Burgess, Shannon Deese, Roger Flint, Jake Pollard, Lane Shaw, Sam Stewart, and Steve Waugh.
