He is survived by his daughter, Angie Campbell; his sons, Johnny Williams and Steven Williams (Misty); his sisters, Marcella Norris (Glen) and Brenda Kay Buttram; and his grandchildren, Lorie, Alysia, Beth, Alex, Brooke, Zack, Belle, Tyler, Holly, Eliy, Alexis, Kylei, Dylan, Gillian, and Tristan. Survivors also include numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lesteen and A.D. Williams; his sister, Peggy Hodge; and his brothers, Gene Williams and Jerry Williams.
Visitation will be held at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Funeral services, officiated by Andy Brown, will be at 12:00 PM.
A graveside service will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Adam Bonds, Dylan Miller, Caden McCurdy, Alex Campbell, Tommy Bonds, and William Mitchell.
Wayne enjoyed reading, casinos, traveling and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
He served in the Vietnam war while serving our country in the US Navy.
He retired from Hager hinge and attended Gadsden state achieving his college degree while in his 50s.
He attended his navy shipmates reunion annually. He has a great sense of humor always coming up with a song or a story. Never knew if it was true or not. He was the best daddy in the world. He was everybody’s paw paw and loved everyone. He will be missed by so many.
